Integration Guide: Segment to Autopilot

This integration guide will walk you through the process of integrating Segment with Autopilot. By following these steps, you will be able to send customer data from Segment to Autopilot, enabling you to automate personalized marketing campaigns based on user behavior and attributes.

Step 1: Set up Autopilot

1. Sign in to your Autopilot account or create a new one if you don't have an existing account.

2. Once logged in, navigate to the "Settings" tab in the top navigation bar.

3. Under "Settings," click on "API & Tracking" from the dropdown menu.

4. In the "API & Tracking" section, you will find your Autopilot API key. Make a note of this key as you will need it in the next steps.

Step 2: Set up Segment

1. Sign in to your Segment account or create a new one if you don't have an existing account.

2. Once logged in, navigate to the "Sources" tab in the top navigation bar.

3. Under "Sources," click on "Add Source" and select "Autopilot" from the list of available sources.

4. In the "Autopilot" source setup page, enter a name for your source and click on "Connect."

5. On the next page, enter your Autopilot API key that you obtained in Step 1. Click on "Save" to continue.

6. Segment will now start collecting data from your Autopilot account.

Step 3: Configure Segment to send data to Autopilot

1. In your Segment dashboard, navigate to the "Destinations" tab in the top navigation bar.

2. Under "Destinations," click on "Add Destination" and search for "Autopilot" in the available destinations.

3. Select "Autopilot" from the search results and click on "Configure Autopilot."

4. In the Autopilot destination setup page, enter a name for your destination and click on "Configure Autopilot."

5. On the next page, you will see a list of events that you can send to Autopilot. Select the events you want to track and click on "Save."

6. Segment will now start sending the selected events to Autopilot.

Step 4: Map Segment traits to Autopilot fields

1. In the Autopilot destination setup page, click on the "Mappings" tab.

2. Under "Mappings," you will see a list of traits that you can map to Autopilot fields. Click on "Add Mapping" for each trait you want to map.

3. In the mapping configuration, select the Autopilot field you want to map the trait to and click on "Save."

4. Repeat this process for all the traits you want to map.

5. Segment will now send the mapped traits to the corresponding Autopilot fields.

Step 5: Test the integration

1. To test the integration, perform actions or events that trigger the events you configured in Step 3.

2. Monitor your Autopilot account to ensure that the events and traits are being received correctly.

3. Verify that the mapped traits are populating the corresponding fields in Autopilot.
